COLT Receives Palmetto Silver Award

COLT was one of seven Chester County Schools (among the 853 schools statewide) recognized on March 19 by the State Department of Education for academic achievement and closing achievement gaps in 2011.

The Palmetto Gold and Palmetto Silver Award Programs honor schools that attain high levels of absolute performance, high rates of growth and substantial progress in closing achievement gaps between groups of students. The program includes two parts - recognition for general school performance as well as recognition for closing achievement gaps between groups of students. COLT received the Palmetto Silver Award for General Performance, which is based on overall performance on both the absolute and growth ratings and the growth index found on school report cards. These ratings are determined by PASS scores for elementary schools.

COLT was recognized for this award by the Chester County School Board meeting on April 16, 2012.
